Save your money.

I read the original version of this book. Save your money on this and any of Dolores’ "Convoluted" books - unless you like reading chapter after chapter of people living lives as "rocks", "air", "water", “floating in nothingness”, and so forth. I don't particularly care about any of that, and don't find it the least bit useful for the problems facing our modern world. Her “New Earth” theory is nothing more than a teaser, and it leaves the reading wanting for answers that never come. Dolores may be a good person, but she's making a lot of money selling "hope" for problems that we will have to solve on our own. For anyone who’s watched her many videos, they are little more than regurgitated, repeated scripts – just different versions of the same thing. Sometimes she opens the discussion to the audience, and any new topics or thoughts totally fluster her, at which point, she pivots back into the echo chamber of sameness. The only time her story has changed was stating in one video that “Obama is a light bringer”, and another time saying he is “stupid”. Opinion is acceptable, but at least get your story straight!! It’s interesting to note that my comments on her Youtube videos pointing out her discrepancies have been deleted.

I’m sorry I have spent so much money on too many of Dolores' books, which are little more than the same old re-arranged script - repeated over and over again. It's nice to think that a magical "New Earth", and ships are going to "save" us, but that's something we are going to have to do ourselves. While there is some truth in her books, IMO, anyone who says "buy my books", "buy my cruise and lecture packages", and "believe that all aliens are good, and they will save you", is little more than a cult leader. And, save your money on the other "Convoluted Universe" series - a total waste of money.

Save your money! Her work is crap!

Completely agreeable with previous comment (pb). I also spent much money on her books for my research. After reading a couple of her books I considered taking her ridiculous expensive course online to learn her technique. I first wanted to try it and scheduled with one of her graduated students who was a level 2. He showed up dressed slouchy, armpit stains, hung around for hours before getting to the session and I thought what a joke and faked it all the way through. Then he hinted of dinner and ate a lot of my food and left with $300 of mine. Session was $290. He said he would do more free sessions with me but, I have not heard back from him since. Anyway, back to the books. I continued reading her materials and figured I couldn't judge off of one bad apple. There is a lot of regurgitation and same old questions asked while the obvious great questions went unasked. Dolores is very proud and does not let you forget about who she is and her curiosity but, her curiosity missed a lot of valuable questioning. I did find her work (at first) an interesting read. As I managed through more of her books, I came across several things that made me roll my eyes and lift an eyebrow, (e.g. how she just didn't want to work that person because of going through another mundane common life. Same old generic questions that we knew already - we have a pretty good idea what the ships look like- And her visit to Stonehenge and how she smirked proudly about another group going out to the monument betting they would not have the same experience as they did) Really? What pride she has of being so superior to others. She also mentioned her work was volunteer but, later says she didn't feel right to charge a client again since they were interrupted. She continues to ask the same questions that many of us have already by now have had the answers too. She missed opportunities to ask real questions that pertained to our real world issues and life as of today. You know, useful information!! It's nice to learn history but, what about useful information of todays issues? Especially if she had an open door to receive this information.

Where she really got me that sent up a hard red flag was when it was mentioned that Obama was a light bringer. Say what? {I do not belong to a political party or any religious faith}. What kind of light bringer? Lies and deceits in a list to long to type, someone who supports groups who rape, torture, and behead and call it peace, and the destruction of a country? Maybe her curiosity should have asked "WHO exactly am I REALLY dealing with here?" I feel the questions she should have been asking, she didn't! And THIS question should have been a top priority!

She does call Obama stupid in one of her videos. And if you seen one video or read one of her books, you have pretty much seen/read it all. You can watch some of her interviews and she is asked a question and she goes into the "I love me" speech and you might hear her later answer the question. One of her videos showed a guy who had some kind of gimmick that could help people and was offering his services for free and she lacked interest... ask her a real question and she will veer off of it and not return or not answer it directly. Her work is very oblique. Shady to say the least. Very disappointing!!

Sixtyish sisters Patricia Anne and Mary Alice return for more wacky fun and adventure in their seventh mystery in this popular series from Agatha-winner George. Soon after returning home to Birmingham, Ala., from Christmas in Poland, Patricia Anne and Mary Alice agree to help their cousin Luke track down his wife of 40 years, Virginia, who's run off with a house painter-cum-preacher with the Salinger-esque name of Holden Crawford. They start their search at Crawford's Jesus is Our Life and Heaven Hereafter Church, where someone hits Luke over the head and the two sisters find the neatly laid out body of an unknown woman in a pew. While Luke is in the hospital, the renegade preacher turns up in Virginia's car, dead of a snakebite. Patricia Anne and Mary Alice, aided by the local sheriff, unearth plenty of signs of jealousy, blackmail and adultery as they strive to clear Virginia's name and get to the bottom of her disappearance. Hilarious dialogue and small details (pimento cheese sandwiches?!) enrich a plot that's spread thin over past events and secondary players. Some questions are left unresolved, while othersAless important to the storyAare addressed by a person who appears only in the final chapters. Despite a weak ending, the eccentric characters and southern flavor should endear the book to cozy readers. George has written another genuinely funny mystery, and fans will be glad to see many familiar faces from earlier escapades.

A Fun cosy

Birmingham, Alabama's Southern Sisters are tired after just returning home from spending two weeks in Warsaw, Poland celebrating the wedding of Patricia Anne's daughter. However, their idyllic breather ends even before it begins when cousin Luke "Puke" Nelson asks for their help. Apparently, Virginia, Luke's wife of forty years, left him for a house painter, Holden "Monk" Crawford. Reluctantly Patricia Anne agrees to accompany her more enthusiast sibling Mary Alice in finding the runaway.

Mouse and Sister as Patricia Anne and Mary Alice are more commonly known trace Virginia and Monk to a remote church on Mount Chandler. However, instead of finding the runaways, the Southern Sisters find the corpses of two murdered people, neither being Monk or Virginia. As they continue their inquiries, Sister and the local Sheriff seem stuck on one another. Ultimately, they locate a dead Monk, but they still have not found the missing Virginia.

Fans of the series will fully enjoy the seventh cozy in the Southern Sisters series. MURDER CARRIES A TORCH centers more on Mouse's humorous asides with the reader about the excessive behavior of Sister than on detective work. Still, that should not surprise fans of the series, as that is the essence of all the novels.

Another Fantastic Southern Sisters Mystery Y'all!

Have you ever had your two favourite aunts go away for a year on an adventure....then have them return to share with you the trouble they got themselves into. This is what reading an Anne George Southern Sisters mystery is like. These books make me laugh until I can't breath, bring tears to my eyes and keep me on the edge of my chair until the last tale has been told. Murder Carries a Torch is indeed a visit with those whacky relatives. You've got dead snake-charmers, purple boots, angel-sightings, pukey cousins, disappearing wives and the most loveable sisters in mystery today. The fact that one of the the ladies is now 'wired' is a bonus...the part describing Patricia Anne's experience with e-mail 'spam' is hilarious, and I was smart enough this time round not to have a mouthfull of anything when I read it. Like the rest of the books in this series, Torch is pure heaven. The only downside here is the wait for the next one!

Solid Gold for Mystery Lovers!

Anne George continues to top herself with each Southern Sisters mystery. I became interested in them initially, because I, too, had an Aunt Sister, but the lively plots and characters keep me coming back again and again. There are very few books that make me laugh out loud, but these do and in particular, her latest entry. Patricia Ann and Mary Alice get mixed up with snake-handling holy rollers and all hell breaks loose! I could not put it down and literally read all night. Don't miss this one!

A Thinking Woman's Thriller

I must admit that I was not expecting to like this book as much as I did. (My husband said, "You've got to read this!".)I'm kind of a "girly girl", so I'm not normally a fan of this genre - However, I was surprised that this particular novel did not fit with the usual machismo stereotypes. The women prove themselves to be much more than love interests thrown in for minor distraction. And the interplay between the very real world of modern Mexico and the shadowy pre-Colombian mythology provides texture and depth. I wasn't really sure, much of the time, whether what I was reading was the protagonist's dream or some type of out-of-body experience. At any rate, I got the feeling that I was really inside the murky world that lies hidden just below the glossy picture postcard images of Mexico I have envisioned up until now. Adventure with character

The Jaguars Heart combines a fast moving adventure plot set in an exotic location with good characterization of the principals in the story. Jesse, the hero, is in exile in Mexico after misunderstandings with his US government employer. We follow his redemption dealing with more than a few unsavories, but also with a great link up with Mexican history before the Spanish.

A realistic plot, of course the hero prevails, but along the way he loses some friends, not your normal predictable story. The technical aspects ring true, although few of us could ever be as accurate with a .22 pistol.

This was my first "electronic" novel. Had it been in book form I probably would have tried to read in just one or possibly two sittings. On the screen about 150 pages seemed the maximimum per session. Probably that will change with more electronic books.

No, not "great literature" but good recreational reading, timely story and depth to the characters.

Great Book

An engrossing and compelling book. It kept me up three night in a row reading it. The hero, Rideout, is kind of a cross between Indiana Jones and Jason Bourne, but real world and believable. He's a young covert operator who learns the reality of the covert world and stumbles into a surrealistic underworld full of drugs and criminals who believe in sorcery. It's obvious the writer has actually been there and done it, at least part of it. The author has also written nonfiction books on selecting, buying, and shooting guns.

I love the women, Kate and Elizabeth. I would run away with either of them tomorrow. They are tough, beautiful, believable women, and not ornamental bimbos. Their trip through Mexico is real and fantastic from the super rich palaces to the Native villages. I felt like I was right there with them and didn't want the trip to be over.

I'll read it again and look for the writer's next book.
